How it Works

1) Decide if you would like a whole, half, or quarter.

2) Place your order and pay the deposit. We will contact you after your order is placed to coordinate a butcher date. The dates are set for the year and can fill up fast, so be sure to reserve in advance. The non-refundable deposit will go toward your final balance.

3) Pay Leckbee Cattle Company. Once the beef is butchered, we will contact you with your hanging weight and your final balance with us. This will include the kill fee for your share of the animal.

4) Place your cut order. The butcher shop will contact you to place your custom cut instructions. The shops we work with are great at answering questions and giving suggestions, so you get just what you want in your freezer! The beef will age 12-18 days and then your cuts will be made.

5) Pick up. The butcher will notify you when your meat is cut and wrapped and ready for pickup. You will pay the butcher shop for processing when you pick up your meat. This usually runs about $0.90-1.00/lb. The take home yield on a typical beef is 55-60% of the hanging weight for grain finished, 62-65% of the hanging weight for grass finished and about 50-55% on a burger cow.

6) Take your beef home and enjoy!

Why Grass-Fed and Grain-Finished Beef is the Best of Both Worlds

Grass-fed and grain-finished beef combines the nutritional benefits of grass-fed cattle with the rich marbling and flavor that comes from grain finishing. This process results in tender, flavorful beef that's perfect for your family table.
